Anything you can think of that I could check that might explain why it
would start so early on my system? I also have files on my desktop. No
WC's though.

Could starting too early cause a deadlock? Like it is trying to use some
service before it is available? I went back to the previous working
version and do not have a problem.

I didn't really think it did have anything to do with the problem. You
asked if it deadlocked if I did not add cache to the autostart. By that,
I assume you are referring to this registry entry?

Yes, I have Admin priviliges and Yes the cache runs under my ID.
