[TSVN] .svn issue

I seem to recall reading that the .svn files are only an issue with
FrontPage extensions. I have been unable to find the relevant
conversation in the archives. Is this the case, or is it Visual Studio
in general that doesn't like .svn files?

We are using VS.Net 2003, but not FrontPage extensions (not even
installed on the machines). If no one knows, I may just try installing
the standard version and see what explodes, but I can't find in the FAQ
exactly what issues are caused or how they manifest themselves. Is this
documented explicitly somewhere and I'm just too dense to find it?

With all this talk about the new status caching mechanism, I'm starting
to feel a bit left out.
