[TSVN] RFC: Nightlies & Cache

Hi Folks,

I wonder if anyone out there who is using the nightlies has *not* enabled
Wills new cache?

Working with the new cache since day 1 in a production environment, I think
it's very stable. It has some minor glitches with the icon overlays, most of
them look like initialization errors, but apart from that I feel it's 99%
reliable.

So I'm asking the question:

Shall we force our nightly build users (= beta testers) to use the new
cache? This way we would get more testers and more results.

If yes, then we should get rid of the following settings:
- "force icon update": I wonder why this option has ever made it on the main
settings tab. I should have ben on the look&feel tab anyway. To me this
checkbox carries a big "this is kludge" sign attached to it. I can't even
suggest a default setting without this box, but false feels right to me.
- "show folder status": should implicitely be set to true
- "recurse into folders": should implicitely be set to true
- "show overlays only in explorer": The only one we might want to keep.
Defaults to false if we don't keep it.
- the two "paths to [in|ex]clude" boxes: The cache is good, so why exclude
anything?

Lets hear your opinion!

- Lübbe
