The problem is that Steve disables the cancel button when the operation
has finished. This disables also the key combinations ESC and Alt-F4 to
close the dialog.

Steve, I suggest you do not disable the cancel button. If you don't want
to leave the cancel button there (because you can no longer cancel),
then rename the button to "Close". This is what microsoft recommends in
such a situation. Well, I think the progress dialog only needs one close
button at all, no individual OK/Cancel buttons.
