Wouldn't it be better to have a separate boolean setting for
"UseBuiltinDiff", etc.? Otherwise if someone switches from external to
builtin and back, they might not notice it had the '#' there. It would
at least be nice if the '#' were automatically removed when switching
from builtin to external.
