[TSVN] Windows Explorer Stalls

Hello,

I recently installed TortoiseSVN 1.1.2, Build 2205, UNICODE.

After installing, I noticed some problems with my explorer that I have
never noticed before:

Sometimes, when deleting files (sending them to the recycle bin), the will
"freeze" for about 45 seconds while it tries to delete the file. The files
aren"t large, either -- these are 10K and 20K files that I"m talking about.
I installed TortoiseSVN on two machines, at work and at home. Both machines
started occasionally freezing when deleting file(s). The files being
deleted are not under SVN control. TaskManager reveals very little (almost
nil) CPU usage while explorer is stalled.

I have ensured that virus scanners are leaving SVN controlled directories
alone , and disabled folder status and recursive status fetch... I'm really
at a loss here (most of these aren't candidate culprits because the problem
occurs on non-SVN directories as well as SVN controlled directories).

I know that this is neither a new problem, nor isolated to my circumstances
because I cam across an almost identical post on a TortoiseCVS mail list in
2003... there was no reponse to that particular cry for help.

I have recommended TortoiseSVN/SVN as a department wide alternative for the
version control we currently use and am attending a meeting in a couple of
days where this will be discussed. Unfortunately, I will probably have to
withdraw my recommendation unless this problem can be resolved by then :-(

I have search the mailing list archives to no avail, can anyone offer and
suggestions... is there something I have missed ??

Cheers, Paul
