[TSVN] Checkout Fails on new dir

Hi all,
When I create a new dir and then try to check out using TSVN it fails
(consistently on new dirs under Win98) with
the message "Cannot get shared lock ... OK?
(see attached gif)
However the new dir is now under SVN so next right click on it gives the
Update option which works.
(but this is very scary to a new user trying to setup and not sure if they
(I) have done it correctly. I almost gave up at this point and went back to
CVS)

matthew

p.s. Slightly off the point It was not "OK" with we me that TSVN could
not get the shared lock
see http://www.forward.com.au/javaProgramming/javaGuiTips/dialogBoxes.html
under the heading Unintelligible Error for why this type of dialog box
upsets the user.
To be fair TSVN is not alone in this, but there are better ways to report
problems and re-assure the user that their data is safe.
