I know considerable followup discussions have appeared on the list and
it's quite encouraging that several users have expressed similar ideas.
It's something I had also give thought to and whether it is at all
feasible and could be a feature unique to TSVN or whether it would
require cooperative changes to SVN as well.

From my perspective, I like to see software the prevents or at least
warns one before they either deliberately, accidentally or through
ignorace, attempt to perform a nonsensical operation.
One which springs to mind is the simple act or merging from part or the
whole of the same diff twice.

I contemplaited automating log messages entries that could later be
parsed by TSVN to extract branch paths, revision number ranges and have
appropriate data available to the merge dialog to flag potential double
merges and also to flag when changes on a branch might be missed if the
"From" or "To" revision
omits one or more changes.
