Why not place our (green) commit arrow on a yellow / amber circle for the
commit icon? I like the idea of associating the action to take with the
overlay icon.
Then we would have red left for the conflict icon.

It's restricted to
16x16 in 'list and detail' view, of which I use 9x9 or 10x10
32x32 in 'symbol' view of which I use 16x16
48x48 in 'tile' view of which I use 20x20

The triangle still could grow a bit because it doesn't have as much surface
as a circle.

I was looking for different shapes for each action to make the symbols clear
for low-vision / colour blind people.

Yellow lightning on dark blue (circle). I like that one most, but then we'd
have a circular background again. I try to paint something with round and
square background alternatively.
