Hello,
I just discovered the svn:external feature which seems to be really nice for
creating simple checkouts for complex projects. But when I create a tag, the
svn:external properties simply get copied (which of course is usually
intended, I suppose). But as tags/branches represent a certain state of a
project, it would be really usefull, if in such case automatically via
the -r switch the revision of the svn:externals could be locked. Maybe it's
also rather an issue for the svn devlist, I'm not sure about. I guess this
feature isn't yet implemented either in TSVN or SVN directly. Of course, if
the svn:external property already has been restricted to a revision,
everything would be left as it is. Of course it can be discussed whether it
would be a better policy to use svn:external generally with the -r option to
be sure about not getting any unwanted surprises.
Any comments ?
Bye,
Florian Storck
