In some environments it's not desired to enable this feature... is this
really necessary?

Subject: [TSVN] Feedback: TortoiseSVN - FAQ

Greetings,
I believe this should be added to both the help manual and the FAQ.

For people who have tried all the tips listed over directories being
excessively slow (on every page view), it may be because the windows
Indexing Service is off or disabled. Once corrected, everything should
hum along just fine. To make sure this is enabled in Windows XP, to the
following:

Start: Run: Type in "services.msc"

Locate "Indexing Service" in the list of services.

If not turned on, or disabled, open its properties, enable it ("manual"
setting should work), and start the service.

Open your task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete).

Locate "explorer.exe"

Right-click: "End Process"

File: New Task(Run...)

Type in "explorer.exe"

This should correct any remaining issues that users are having.

Thanks
Anthony Duerr
