How about using the same list view but implementing selection of several
files at the same time using <ctrl>, <shift> and <arrow> keys and then one
click of the mouse selects/deselects them all? Or is that also a huge task
(sorry not very familiar with Windows programming)?

who just pressed <down arrow> <mouse click> <down arrow> <mouse click> many
times in the commit dialog. Holding down <shift> and <down arrow> at the
same time making them auto-repeat and press the mouse once would have been
great.
