[TSVN] Strange error within subfolder

One of the users of our repository is having a strange problem when
checking out or updating. A certain subfolder causes this error message
to be displayed:

  "Invalid diff stream: [tgt] insn 7 starts beyond the target view position."

Other users of the repository do not get this message, and have no
problems. This was tried with a version a few weeks old, and also with
the latest nightly build. What does the message mean?
