Maybe clicking OK twice for 'add' is what gives me the impression. Whereas 'add to ignore' is more straightforward.

        What do you mean by *looks* like? There may be more disk activity
        because 'add...' involves creating several files in the .svn folder.
        I think the manual tells you that you need to commit for an add to take
        effect.
