[TSVN] 'Can't write to file 'tmp' error when merging

From: Simon Kennedy <skennedy_at_twibble.org>

Hi,

Our development group have recently moved to using
'TortoiseSVN 1.0.8, Build 1430, UNICODE' under Windows XP SP1
and have started recieving errors while attempting to merge one of
our branches to our trunk (we follow the basic layout detailed in the svn book).
We have successfully merged previously with this version but suddenly it seems
that it will not work for anyone.

The message we get is
'Can't write to file 'tmp': There is not enough space on the disk'.

We all seem to get this message but we all seem to have plenty
of disk space, including the server so that does not seem to be
the true problem. I can also verify this as I have performed the same
merge from the command line with versions 1.0.4 and 1.0.6 of svn.

I have had no success searching the tortoise or svn mailinglists
for any history of this error so I hope that someone on this mailinglist
might be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Simon. K
