fwiw:
i've not used under *nix so can't compare, but (tsvn) seems to always
have a bit of delay (basic 100mb lan, win2k3 + apache 205 server
(practically zero load), winxp-sp1 + tsvn 108 client over https).
eg. check for updates on an empty/unmodified folder takes a good 1500ms
from time dialog is shown til time ok button is activated.
just fyi.

Godda admit, I do find TSVN very sluggish over a LAN link to Apache. I
used it for weeks via a Apache server on the same machine and it was v
fast....

Server is W2k, Apache 2.0.50, SVN 1.0.6.

Client is W2k, TSVN 1.0.7

The server's not under any load.
