If you have something that shouldn't go to the repository, then don't
version it in the first place. And if you only want to not commtit
changes for a specific file for e.g. a day or a week then you have to
uncheck that file every time you commit.

If you have a file which get's modified by you and every developer of
your project to suit local settings, use a template file and version
that, not the modified file(s).
