Thanks for the detailed reproduction recipe! The crashreport alone
didn't help here much, but since I could reproduce it it was much easier
to find and fix.

It won't crash for files which have an extension (e.g. .txt) or if the
path/URL doesn't have a dot in it - the /1.1.x/ path has dots and the
file STATUS doesn't have an extension -> crash.

Fixed in revision 1530.
