Agreed. I like to use it for keeping backups in case of disk problems too.
When I get to a significant point I put in meaningful comments, when I'm
just saving a file in case there's a problem I just wnat it to be fast.
Tsvn/svn is great for keeping track of my bookmarks.html - it's easy to back
up and find what's new etc so I can send a diff home. It's similar with
saving my /home directory for Cygwin too, that's just or personal use and a
timestamp and a trawl through the log is good enough.
It's different when working on a project with others, but that's not the
only way it's used, I have a personal repo for my stuff and intermediate
saves for development, and another repo for the shared project work -
ideally I'd have optional comments for my stuff and compulsory comments for
the group repo.

Just my 2c.
