[TSVN] TortoiseSVN Speed

I'm sure this is an obvious one - but I didn't see it mentioned in the
list... but I'm noticing substantial performance degradation using
TortoiseSVN vs the command-line client.

 

My test case is an SVN import of a 340mb project. TortoiseSVN is
probably at least 5x as slow as SVN itself.

I see TortoiseProc.exe consuming 100% CPU during the entire transaction.
SVN sever is on a separate Linux server, connected via gigabit Ethernet,
and cpu usage there is low.

 

OS in WinXP /w all latest patches... and dual 2.4 Xeon HT CPU's - plenty
of power to do an import.

 

Might want to profile your application to see where all this excess CPU
usage is coming from.
