Correct. We were trying an update at the time. The old password didn't
work. The current password didn't work. It was as if the
authentication information was incorrect (but it was correct, and
verified that it was not a server issue by pointing a web browser at the
repository). The apache log file seems to verify this.

What finally solved it, was using the current password, and clicking the
"save password" check.
