Thank you for the replies. Sorry for responding so late. I am new to this discussion board and I was under the impression that replies come back to my email.

Thanks Andreas for sharing my views, I always hate the commit dialog because indeed there are always some last minute changes.

Thanks Stephen for the fix about saving the comment.

Thanks Michail, yes this functionality(editing files on commit) its indeed useful. Thats why I often switch to TortoiseSVN since its extremely user friendly when making changes from that dialog.
  

At the end, I just realised that while the feature that I requested is useful, its perhaps best for me to use Team Synchronizing more. I will give that (and that change sets mode that Mark suggested) a shot and let you guys know how it goes.
