Deleting the .svn folder deletes the Subversion metadata which breaks
the working copy. You might have to do a new checkout.

Sometimes, you can just delete the parent folder and then do an
update. For example, given this structure:

Project
  |- src
  |- |- com
  |- docs

If the .svn folder from "com" was deleted, you could delete the com
folder (outside Eclipse). Then do a Team > Update on the 'src" folder
and Subversion would restore the com folder and its children.
