ok, that gets me a step further. I missed that option because I was
looking at the lower section only, not the view menu. Beyond that, as
comments also appear in the table, I wouldn't have thought that this
menu/button toggles the setting for the lower pane (only).

Now, if there was an option to switch off the light grey color for the
affected paths that dont belong to the current resource (I already
know the resource - its selected in the upper pane), and if the size
of the affected paths column took up, say, 90% of the available space
by default...
