[Subclipse-users] Compare before 'merge'

I'm on Eclipse 3.4.2 and subeclipse 1.6.0
I've been a long time user of CVS and most of my projects are still there, but one has now closed their CVS branch and is only available via SVN.
I've got most things working, but when I try to 'open in compare editor' I'm getting :-

Two versioned resources are unrelated
svn: Unable to find repository location for 'https://phpgedview.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/phpgedview/trunk/phpGedView/editconfig_gedcom.php' in revision 0

I can 'merge' the versions, but Ideally I need to check the differences and perhaps just 'merge' part of an update as I'm working on a different port of this project.

Where am I going wrong?
