[Subclipse-users] question about subclipse installation

Hello,

Well, my question is more about what dependencies subclipse has. Here
is the strange thing we encountered that made me curious:

A co-worker and I both installed subclipse v1.4.x. I am running
eclipse galileo on windows, and after I installed subclipse and
configured it to use svnkit, it talked to our repository without any
problems.

however, my co-worker runs eclipse (v3.2 I think, but not sure) on
RHEL 5, and after he installed the same version of subclipse, he kept
getting an error saying "expected version 3 of repository; found
version 5". Finally it turned out his environment variable SVN_HOME
was pointing to a different version of svn than what the repository
uses.

but what makes me wonder is that I don't even have svn installed on my
machine, and it works. so it seems that subclipses doesn't have
external dependencies in windows, but does depend on external svn
installation when it is in Linux? it just doesn't make sense... could
someone satisfy my curiosity? thanks.
