The required change is to convert all line endings to LF. Maybe your
mail script or client wants CRLF?

Try a multi-line commit using the command line or TortoiseSVN.

Look at the log message in the Subclipse Show History option. These
might reveal if there is a difference. I cannot see how though. It
is the same code we are using in 1.6.x.
