Well, we use an odd/even numbering policy where even == stable. We
just skipped the odd numbering for the development releases this time
because we did it all at the end of the Subversion release process.

We'll likely have a 1.7.x development stream when SVN 1.7 gets further
along as a new working copy format is being developed and that will
likely impact us a lot. But 1.8 will be our official stable release
when SVN 1.7 comes out.
