[Subclipse-users] Question on seeing working copy in Eclipse

I am a newbie to Subversion and Subclipse. I am coming from a clearcase
background and we're looking at Subversion to take the place of clearcase if
possible. For 2 days I've been looking at the Help section of the Subclipse
plugin within Eclipse but I'm not really clear on the checkout concepts used
in Subclipse. I am using Eclipse 3.4.0. I was able to connecting directly,
via Subclipse, to repository that I created.

Within my URL I created 3 upper level directories: branches, tags, trunk.
I have not yet put anything under the branches or tags directory and setup
my projects (clearcase term) under the trunk directory. I have 4 projects:
Phase 3, Phase 4, Phase 5, and Phase 6. Per the quick start section of
Subclipse I checked out the trunk repository directory and selected Check
out as a project in the workspace (same work space where I am making a
connection to the repository). The project was created in the same
workspace when I go to the file system I see it there and when I try to
import it into the same workspace via selecting from the File menu import
--> existing project into workspace then I select the project from the
workspace directory and I get the message in Eclipse that states: Some
projects were hidden because they exist in the workspace directory. The
instructions say I can do this but I cannot bring it into my workspace to
see it in my workspace in Eclipse.

I'm thinking that I am importing this incorrectly, obviously, but cannot
find anything in HELP to direct me otherwise.

Any help or direction from this list would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.
