Yes, you can do everything with the external. We use this for
Subclipse projects related to svnClientAdapter. The only "gotcha"
I've run into is Show History. If you take the option on your
project, you do not see history of the external. So you have to
remember to take the option at that level of the project. I am sure
there are other options that you would have to take similar
consideration, but commit is not one of them.
