What do you mean "worked"? What are they supposed to do?

When the package is first created the decoration shows the "?". When
it is added to version control it shows a little blue thing (I think;
other folders do). When it is first committed it shows the yellow
cylinder and never changes thereafter, despite the condition of the
files contained in the package.

Is that the way they're supposed to work? It's not what I remember
from previous versions (I think I was using them in RAD or VAJ).
