[Subclipse-users] Subversion 1.5/Subclipse 1.4 Officially Released!!

I am pleased to announce that Subversion 1.5.0 has been officially
released and this means that we can now also officially release
Subclipse 1.4.0. These releases have been in development for over a
year now, and I am truly excited about all of the enhancements that
have been made to Subversion specifically so that Subclipse can be a
better client. Of course this does not even count all of the great
features that were just added to Subversion itself.

I wish I had Apple's marketing team to put together a web page with
little screenshots and blurbs of the literally hundreds of
improvements that are in this release of Subclipse. I have been using
it since last year and they are all just second nature to me now.
Alas, I have too much work related to the release of Subversion 1.5
within CollabNet to do much to the Subclipse web site. I did update
the main page with the new links.

With this release out, I do not plan to do any more 1.2.x releases.
The only reason to maintain it would be for people that needed SVN 1.4
support. I cannot think of any good reason why someone would need
that as the client version can still talk to any version of the
server. Tigris still runs SVN 1.3 on server as an example.

Links for 1.4.x Release:
Changelog:
http://subclipse.tigris.org/subclipse_1.4.x/changes.html
Eclipse update site URL: http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.4.x

I do not have zipped update site or source builds posted yet. It is
on my todo list.

One thing I do want to do is plug the CollabNet Desktop - Eclipse
Edition. It includes the merge client we developed on top of
Subclipse. You will need this to get all the merge tracking features
of Subversion 1.5.0. An announcement will be going out later, but
this entire product is being released under the EPL. The project home
page will be on openCollabNet. Once the project is live, I will
update the Subclipse web site with more information.

The current update site URL for this product is:

Eclipse 3.2: http://downloads.open.collab.net/eclipse/dev-builds/e3.2
Eclipse 3.3: http://downloads.open.collab.net/eclipse/dev-builds/e3.3

CollabNet is in the process of certifying the release. It will be
posted to the official update sites in about a week after QA has
finished qualifying the release.
