No, it seems practically impossible.

SVNKit is not linked to SVN at all anyway. It is a reverse-engineered
implementation of the proocols.

I have no plans at the moment.

It is very stable, and yes 1.5 client works with 1.4 server. Our
server is running 1.3. The 1.5 working copy format has changed
though, so if you do use the client you cannot mix it with older
versions of TortoiseSVN or the command line. At least not on the same
WC. TortoiseSVN has stable nightlies available too though.
