AFAIK the "Subclipse integration for Mylyn" is used to support task
based changesets with SVN. It has nothing to with storing task in
SVN. Last time I checked you needed Bugzilla, Trac or JIRA to store
tasks remotely.
For the tutorial, check the MyLyn website, they have tons of stuff
that also applies to SVN.

MyLyn used to be called MyLar and I suspect that in some old plug-in
descriptions files that old name still exists. If Eclipse doesn't
mark the plugin as invalid it should work, though.
