Subclipse and JavaHL can handle it fine too (see attached). The
problem is that SVN is inconsistent on what it returns depending on
the scenario. I also thought the poster might actually be talking
about multi-level externals, which are different. In that case the
intermediate folders are consistently reported as unversioned, and
actually do not even contain a .svn folder.
