Are you using an IP address instead of a hostname for the repository
URL? Can you just change to using a host name?

Otherwise, just have a single repository instead of two. When you
need to change it, right click on the repository name in the view and
choose the Relocate option. This will let you provide the new URL for
the repository and also update any checked out working copies to point
to it.
