I believe there is an issue filed. I have given thought to it in the sense
that I think these sort of multi-project operations should be one of our
highest development priorities for 1.4.0 release. But I have not gone so
far as to actually think about how it would be done or what is involved.

It would be great if someone from the community wanted to step forward and
get the ball rolling with some patches or ideas. I think we all know what
the end result is that we want, but thinking through the issues and how we
would deal with them is what needs to be done.
