Thanks mark. Discovered that after getting the bulk of the team to use
tortoise to relocate.

Hopefully there won't be a next time, but I'll know then anyway. :)

In Subclipse you need to open the SVN Repositories view, select the
connection, right-click and choose Relocate. That will update the
connection and all attached working copies in the workspace.
