Hi,

This is not a bug, you have simply committed the bin folder, which is
deleted and recreated during build.
Just delete the bin folder from your repository and put a svn:ignore option
in the project.
This should solve the problem (not depending on the version of your
Subclipse).

upon attempting to update a project tree in Eclipse

Navigator Perspective / Select the project folder /
Right Mouse Button / Team / Update

an error message occures. Please see attachement for the message details.
