[Subclipse-users] Update -- site contained in another site?

When I attempt to update subclipse, I get an error (see attached image).
Running Subclipse 1.1.5, Eclipse 3.2.0 (Build ID M20060629-1905), installed
on a Debian machine (forwarding via X11 magic).

Important note: some time ago, when installing "EPIC" (a perl plugin), I
accidentally installed into something like plugins/plugins/ (dialogue was
confusing), which may have mucked-up a config file somewhere. Anyway, I've
tried to update to 1.1.6 AND 1.1.7, with both updates resulting in the same
error. I just don't know what to do anymore. HEEEEEELP!
