Yes you are correct, Export is for this indeed... the problem is that
the Export is serving also as a workaround for the copy and paste
limitation in Eclipse, from what I saw in: Bug 109166 and Bug 33924, the
limitation is known since 03/2003 and the last comment was in 09/2005
(almost a year now) and I don't know if they will make a API for this
event any sooner.
        So what I am proposing is a better workaround, to have another
menu like "copy and paste without the .SVN" or maybe to include an
option into Export to do it inside your project, working Set or
Workspace.
