It is an Eclipse feature. Subclipse provides an implementation that lets
it compare the current local version against the SVN Pristine copy. Search
the Eclipse online help for details. You pretty much just right-click
while editing source to enable it.

You have to right-click on a Project or Folder to see it. Typically you
would just do it on your project. Once the view has been opened on a
Project or Folder it will auto-refresh as you make changes. Also
explained in the help.
