Correct.

Yes and No. It is true you can use and think of the Synchronize view this
way, but it is meant to be much more than that.

No, it diffs the specific revision shown in the view.

That is not how it currently works, but is basically what I am proposing.
Obviously if everyone expected it to work in one specific way there would
be no issue. Unfortunately I think most people would expect to get what
they see in the view.

That is how it works today. If I change it to update to HEAD and you
select a folder, then there is a good chance you will get some additional
files.

If I change it to update to HEAD, but you only select specific files, then
you would only get those files. I was proposing that we not use HEAD in
this case, but instead use the revision shown in the view.

If that is how you use it, then you probably will not get any problems, but
there are people that rightfully want to use it for more than that, and we
need to make it work correctly for them too.
