May I suggest that you start to write a log file (like the error log)
with all the actions that SVN does, put it somewhere and when a user
comes with such a complaint, tell them to send this file in?

The log should not only contain the svn commands and the output from the
console but also low-level stuff like the strange things you notice (for
example, copied .svn directories).

It should be plain text so the user sees what he discloses :-)
