OK, so it sounds like you are on OS X? You could try installing the
Metissian package so that you get the JavaHL binary and then see if that
works. Perhaps JavaSVN is having some odd interaction with your
repository? Have you tried any other actions like checking out an
existing project or creating folders from the repositories view?
