How are linked files handled ?

Eclipse provides the ability to link to external files
from with project folders. These files are displayed
under the project root node but are not realy there.

I had an existing project with a few links.

I checked it in via svn comand line ui.

Went to Eclipse and used subclipse and did a "checkout
as " java project.

For each of my linked file the console reports

Bad URL passed to RA layer
svn: URL
'file:///F:/WorkArea/data/CPSVNRepository/Java/Projects/Links/CommonLinks/ClipBoard.txt'
non-existent in revision '5'

Does this mean subclise is treating the "eclipse
links" as ordinary files ?
