Mark,
maybe you missed one of my emails: In TortoiseSVN *actually* switch (not relocate!) is working. And switch is what I want to do. I do not want to relocate. That's why I think it is a bug in Subclipse.

The action in TortoiseSVN that you need is Relocate. This error is coming
from Subversion layer.
