Does subclipse (0.9.31) doesn´t honor proxy settings ?

Hello,

it seems to me that subclipse isn´t using the eclipse proxy setting.
I´ve set the proxy correctly (i think) because updating eclipse features
is working and that´s also the way i installed subclipse initially.
However trying to access the subclipse repository via http fails with
the following error message:

   RA layer request failed
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/repos/subclipse'
svn: PROPFIND of '/repos/subclipse': could not connect to server
(http://svn.collab.net)

I monitored our proxy logfile while trying to access the repository but
i can´t see any entries trying to access collab.net. What could be wrong
a how could i do some more debugging on what´s happening?
