The problem is, that only Windows binary distributable version contains
Subversion native library (JavaHL). This library is required to make
Subclipse work. Note, that we are talking about Subversion libraries, not
Subclipse libraries.

Linux distibutions are different enough, that no binary JavaHL inclusion
may be possible, so you have to build your Subversion yourself in order to
get the JavaHL binaries that fit your Linux distro. The problem is, that
building a JavaHL lib on a Linux is not a trivial matter, and I have seen
a detailed build instructions for Debian only on this list. So, Debian
distro has nice instructions on how to build JavaHL from source, on other
distros you are left to your own devices.

The MacOS X binary distro with JavaHL included can, AFAIK, be found on
another site [not the subclipse.tigris.org].

It is also possible to grab the JavaSVN and have the subclipse use that.
The JavaSVN is a Java only replacement for JavaHL, it may still lack some
features that the JavaHL already supports, but the majority of features
work just fine - or so I am told, because I use JavaHL version.

Hope this helps,
