Attaching Subclipse to an already existing working copy

Hello

I would like to use the Subsclipse features without having to checkout
the project with Subsclipse. Is there a way to achieve this?

My working copy is on a UNIX server, but it is mounted as SAMBA-drive so
it is easiliy accessible from my Windows machine. I already use Eclipse
on Windows for browsing and editing and would like to use the Subsclipse
commands as well. TortoiseSVN for example, automatically detect that a
file is under version control and gives you the appropriate context
menu.

I was not able to check out the project using Windows Subsclipse into
the UNIX SAMBA directory without losing the UNIX file permissions -
which makes the project unusable.

Do you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Thomas
